2020Rebranding and visual identity design for Oghistos Coffee Bar & Eatery.
In antiquity, Oghistos was a tributary river, son of the god Poseidon, which flowed through an area near Chalki, Larissa. It served as the name of the village for many years before it was renamed Chalki. Today, Oghistos Coffee Bar & Eatery is a landmark destination for entertainment in Chalki. I was commissioned to redesign the logo and the entire visual identity of the lounge bar, which has been operating in Chalki since 2001.
The logo follows a typographic approach, with the letter “O” intersected by a flowing water wave, referencing the ancient river Oghistos. The brand applications are complemented by custom artwork that offers a more abstract interpretation of the river’s journey and its coexistence and intersection, with the rivers Amiros and Pineios, as well as the lakes Boibeis (Karla) and Nessonida.
The overall identity connects the historical heritage of the region with the contemporary character of the venue, creating a visual language that reflects both its cultural roots and its modern lounge experience.
